44-year-old Luz
María is a woman head of household. She's the mother of four children
that are not old enough to work or help her. She lives in extreme
poverty in a Skid Row called "Río Azul y Linda Vista", in one of the
highest risk areas. Her house is made of waste materials gotten from the disposals of the Río Azul landfill. Such a precarious construction makes this family be exposed to constant cold weather and water infiltration. They own only two
beds, so each bed would be for two or three of them. Children suffer
from malnutrition. Luz María is ill
with migraine that impedes her from working. |
